Barça’s U19s claimed a superb win over Olympiacos after a blistering first half, sealing a third straight victory in the UEFA Youth League. The youngsters were 3–0 up by the 23rd minute, thanks to a goal from Adrián Guerrero and a brace from Orian Goren, and never looked back against a Greek side that had won both previous matches.

Flying start

Pol Planas’ team came out flying, pressing high and attacking from the off. They nearly scored inside three minutes when Kluivert’s solo run set up Quim Junyent, who fired just over. The breakthrough came on 14 minutes as Guerrero pounced on a defensive mix-up, rounded the keeper and finished coolly into an empty net.

Goren at the double

Four minutes later, Uri Pallàs and Goren combined superbly, the midfielder drilling a fierce left-footed strike in off the post. By the 23rd minute, Goren had struck again after a slick one-two with Guerrero to make it 3–0. The hosts were rampant, while Olympiacos barely troubled keeper Bonfill.

Under control

After the restart, Barça managed the game confidently, keeping control and limiting the visitors to half-chances. Cuenca and Gariba marshalled the back line well, and substitute keeper Junyent was rarely tested. Pallàs came close to adding a fourth, only denied by a fine fingertip save.
