One of Hansi Flick's most reliable figures in the squad is defender Jules Kounde. On Wednesday against Paris Saint-GermaIn in the Champions League the Frenchman reached 150 appearances for FC Barcelona in official competition at the start of his fourth season at the club. 

After arriving from Sevilla in the summer of 2022, Kounde has gradually moved from centre back to right back, becoming one of the best in the world in the position. The French international is undoubtedly a great defender but since moving out wide he has also developed the attacking side of his game and his understanding with Lamine Yamal on the right flank for the blaugranes. 

Kounde's unforgettable days

Kounde's consistency has been key in helping him reach 150 games for the blaugranes in just his fourth season at the Club. Of his 150 appearances, 140 have come in the starting line up and he has also scored eight goals, one of which was the winner for Barça in last season's Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid. The defender has also provided 19 assists, including one for Raphinha in the Spanish Super Cup final, also against Real Madrid. 

At the age of 26 and with a contract at Barça until 2030, Kounde has plenty of time ahead of him to add to those 150 matches. One target could be the 193 appearances made by Éric Abidal, at the moment top of the list for French players at Barça, a challenge well within the reach of Jules Kounde.
