Flying start

Barça wasted no time stamping their authority with possession, pace and relentless pressure. After a string of chances, Salma set up Vicky López for the opener on 15 minutes. Moments later, Patri Guijarro struck a wonder goal from near midfield before Ewa Pajor added two more, both from exquisite Kika assists, to make it 4-0 at the break.

Second-half show

After the restart, a Nanclares own goal stretched the lead to five. Athletic briefly hit back with a long-range strike from Zubieta, but Barça never let up. Aitana restored the cushion with a fine finish, Vicky grabbed her second after a rebound, and the young midfielder then completed the rout with a thunderbolt into the top corner.

Final score: 1-8, and a statement victory from a Barça side in irresistible form.
