The women's football first team head to Mexico City on Tuesday to start a six day tour of Mexico. Coach Pere Romeu has selected a 25 player squad: Gemma, Paredes, Szymczak, María León, Aleixandri, Sydney, Paralluelo, Marta, Pina, Graham, Alexia, Patri, Cata Coll, Aitana, Aïcha, Pajor, Kika, Vicky, Celia Segura, C. Serrajordi, O. Batlle, L. Corrales, Brugts, Caño and Txell Font.  

The first game of the trip comes in Monterrey on 22 August at 8.30pm local time (4.30am CEST on 23 August), against a Mexican Liga BBVA MX Femenil XI, a team made up of the best players from the league clubs. The match is to be played at the UANL stadium which has a 42,000 capacity and the home to men's and women's teams from Tigres UANL. 

 

Two days later on 24 August at 12pm local time, 8pm CEST, Pere Romeu's team will meet Club América Femenil at the Ciudad de los Deportes Stadium in Mexico City, ground with a capacity of 36,000. The Mexican club have two former blaugranes in their current squad, goalkeeper Sandra Paños and the recently arrived Bruna Vilamala. 

First days training at COAPA

The squad land on Tuesday at 5pm local time in Mexico City with training session scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday morning local time at the Club América training facilities (COAPA). During the opening days the squad will also take part in promotional events involving Bimbo and Nike a well as an official gala on Wednesday. 

Thursday trip to Monterrey and Saturday return to Mexico City 

The blaugranes will travel to Monterrey on Thursday for a training session in the morning before the first game of the tour the following day. On Saturday morning the squad will return to Mexico City for a final training session at COAPA with the second game to come on Sunday against América, after which the party will fly back to Barcelona.
