Barça eSports secured a crucial 3-2 win over Los Heretics in the lower bracket final of the Superliga Domino’s Spring Split, booking their ticket to the grand final set to take place on May 30 at the Teatro Municipal de Torrevieja. Their opponent will be GIANTX Pride, the most decorated team in Superliga history.
To reach this milestone, Barça eSports had to navigate a challenging bracket, defeating Veni Vidi Vici (2-1) and Movistar KOI Fénix (2-1) during the Swiss format stage, followed by a solid 3-1 victory over LUA Gaming in the quarterfinals — a testament to their consistent and competitive performance throughout the playoffs.
The semifinal clash against Los Heretics started with strong momentum from Barça eSports, who dominated the first two maps with confidence. However, Heretics bounced back to even the series at 2-2, forcing a decisive fifth game. In that final map, the standout performances from Finnish toplaner Matti “Whiteknight” Sormunen and Romanian support Alexandru “whiteinn” Kolozsvari proved decisive in tipping the balance in Barça’s favor.
With this victory, Barça eSports reaches their third consecutive Superliga final, where they will take on GIANTX Pride, a Malaga-based organization that boasts the most prestigious domestic record:
