Gavi: 'I always knew I wanted to be successful with Barça'

Barça's youth player stated 'I am very happy to renew with the best Club in the world'

A very special evening at Spotify Camp Nou. Thursday saw the event to mark Gavi signing his new contract up to 30 June 2026. The buyout clause is also set at 1 billion euro.

Barça's youth player stated, "I am very happy with the renewal, it's something I've dreamed about since I was little. We have always known that we wanted to be successful here and today makes me very happy".

Gavi also received his membership card from FC Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, who had some words of appreciation, "This is a very happy day for all Culers, and I want to thank Gavi, his family, and everyone who made this renewal possible". 


The Barça midfielder spoke about his early days in the youth development sides, "I was helped a great deal when I was at La Masia and I am very grateful. Living there is something special, and I am very grateful to everyone involved there. I was taught to work hard and remain humble from an early age". When it comes to his switch from the U16s to the first team, he stated, "I tried to take it in my stride as much as I could, being at La Masia also really helped me in this respect". 

The next game against Elche is special for Gavi, "I remember last season's game against Elche very fondly. I fulfilled one of my dreams I had since I arrived, celebrating scoring a goal with the fans of the best Club in the world. I will never forget that day".
