Nico Laprovittola staying to 2026

Argentine point guard, whose contract expired in 2023, now extending his period at FC Barcelona

Nicolás Laprovittola is staying at FC Barcelona until 30 June 2026. The Argentine point guard’s contract was due to expire in 2023, but he is now adding three further seasons.

Great first year

The 32-year-old had a fabulous 2021/22 under Sarunas Jasikevicius, getting named to the Liga Endesa all-star team thanks to his 9.3 points (56% in field goals), 2.5 assists and rating of 9.2 in 20 minutes a game.

In the EuroLeague, Lapro posted his best stats ever with 9.6 points (44% in 3-pointers), 3.1 for assists and a rating of 9.8 in 20 minutes a game.

89 games

Laprovittola played all but one of the 90 competitive matches played by the team this year.

Delighted to stay

“I am very happy. Last season was a step forward for me and the club has put its long-term faith in me. That’s never happened to me before.”

"The team and club are aiming high, there are a lot of things ahead and I hope we win a lot of trophies.”

“Barcelona is a lovely city for my family. My daughter Bruna will be speaking Catalan before me. We’re very happy here.”

“We need to be united as a group because we all want to achieve big things. The club is working hard for us to win titles and we have to function as a unit.”
