Members have until June 16 to send proposals for reforms to the FC Barcelona Statutes

Excellent initial response from members to the call for ideas to adapt the statutes to modern times

The FC Barcelona members are proving to be highly active in the procedure to reform the club statutes, which runs from May 16 to June 16. A good number of suggestions and proposals for ways to adapt the document to modern times have reached the club in the first week and a half.

The statutes set out the articles of association that regulate the club’s activities, but much of their content needs to be reassessed in keeping with current times and especially the possibilities offered by new technologies and the way they have affected the club’s social life.

Proposals can be sent until June 16 at the following link:

Matters on which members have particularly been voicing their concerns include representation at assemblies and the election of delegates, the transparency of financial and sponsorship operations, in participation of members in the club’s activities, the club’s image, the duration of mandates on the board, season tickets and boosting attendance at Camp Nou.

All proposals received will be analysed and assessed by the Statutes Reform Commission, which will ultimately be the body that rewrites the FC Barcelona ‘Magna Cart’, and will ensure that the members are involved throughout the process.

The idea is for the proposed redraft of the statures to be presented for approval of the delegate members at the next Ordinary Assembly.
