Club members can support FC Barcelona Foundation's actions to benefit Ukrainian refugees

Products for babies and children will be collected in conjunction with the Red Cross, and members and penyas are encouraged to take in families as part of a joint initiative with the Generalitat de Catalunya

The FC Barcelona Foundation has implemented a series of actions to respond to and support Ukrainian families that felt forced to leave their country and whom have been arriving in Catalonia in recent days.

FC Barcelona members can actively participate in some of these initiatives.

How can we help?

One of the first things members can do is collect basic products for the babies and young children that arrive with their mothers.

Marquees will be installed at different locations around Camp Nou on March 28, 29, and 30 for the collection, to coincide with the Women's Champions League fixture, and on the weekend of April 2 and 3, when those attending the Palau Blaugrana and the Camp Nou for the game against Sevilla FC can bring their donations.

What should we bring?

The Red Cross has recommended the following products as most in need:

•   Powdered baby formula
•   Cereal powders
•   Baby food purees (fruit, vegetables, chicken, fish, etc.)
•   Children's snacks and biscuits
•   Fruit juices

Based on Red Cross indications, the Foundation emphasises that these are the only important products at present, as they are essential for meeting the needs of babies and children that have arrived in Catalonia.

How can I collaborate if I cannot attend in person?

Financial support is very important in humanitarian emergency situations like this one, so organisations with suitable experience and operations should be contacted. Anyone interested in collaborating can do so by making a donation to the Red Cross via the following options:

Bizum: to 03282
Website: www.creuroja.org
Freephone telephone number: 900 104 971

Bank accounts:
•    Banco Santander: ES58 0049 1806 9022 1208 3714
•    La Caixa: ES47 2100 5000 5102 0006 8140

The Club will also give out sport and merchandising material for these families with young and older children.

Providing refuge for families in Catalonia

The FC Barcelona Foundation is working in conjunction with the Generalitat de Catalunya to provide information about the possibility of communities, families, or institutions providing refugee for families in the coming weeks.

An awareness campaign is under way to find families in Catalonia that can provide refuge for the thousands of people that are arriving, a number that it is likely to increase over the coming days. The campaign will be targeting the Club's members, penyes, and fans in particular.

The FC Barcelona Foundation is also coordinating all the support and donations arriving from suppliers, sponsors, partners, companies, or private persons who wish to collaborate with helping refugee families.

The Foundation's social and sports programmes

The FC Barcelona Foundation is going draw on its years' of experience on projects for refugees to organise a series of socio-educational and sports activities for the Ukrainian children and young people at refugee centres across Catalonia. The Foundation is organising a team of Club volunteers, members, and workers to implement the activity, which aims to provide emotional support and promote physical activity and sport for these young persons going through emotional stress. Furthermore, there will be language activities to support these persons when learning Spanish and Catalan, helping them to integrate while this situation persists.
