Brazil into the final of the Copa América

A Brazil squad that includes Barça's Emerson take a 1-0 victory over Peru to book a place in the final

Reigning Copa América champions Brazil will have the chance to defend their crown after reaching the final once again thanks to a slender 1-0 win over Peru in the semi-finals. Barça's Emerson Royal was an unused substitute in the game that was decided by Lucas Paquetá's first half strike.

After a Lucas Paquetá goal decided their quarter-final against Chile, the script remained the same in the last four of the competition. An excellent pass from Neymar 10 minutes before the break allowed the Olympique Lyonnais midfielder to put the hosts ahead in Rio de Janeiro.

Ricardo Gareca's Peru team came back at Brazil in the second half but the canarinha held on to book their place in the final for the 22nd time in their history.

A blaugrana final

Sunday's final (kick off 2.00am CEST) could see blaugranes come up against each other as the other Copa América semi-final sees Leo Messi and Sergio Agüero's Argentina side take on Colombia in the early hours of Wednesday morning, kick off 3.00am CEST.
