Pedri, Spain's youngest ever player at European Championship

Aged 18 years, 6 mmonths and 18 days, the Barça star has beaten the record held since 1980 by Miguel Tendillo

Pedri has become the youngest player ever to appear for Spain at the European Championship, beating a record held by Miguel Tendillo since 1980.

The Canary Islander was just 18 years, 6 months and 18 days when he was named in the starting line-up against Sweden in Seville on Monday, almost a full year younger than the former Valencia, Murcia, Real Madrid and Burgos star was when he appeared in the tournament held in Italy.

The top five youngest Spaniards are completed by Fernando Torres and two other Barça stars, Cesc Fàbregas and Gerard López.

Pedri played more minutes than any other player in Ronald Koeman’s first season in charge, and also became the second youngest Barça player ever to make 50 appearances for the team, his record only surpassed by Bojan Krkic.
