The Argentine confirms that he is staying, after being selected in the NBA Draft

Leandro Bolmaro has confirmed that he will stay at Barça this season. The Argentine, who was the 23rd pick in the NBA Draft, was selected by the New York Knicks and promptly traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

"It's an honour and a privilege to have been picked in the draft. I want to tell Barça fans that I am staying at the club. I have made my decision and I am very happy and comfortable here. I will give my all to earn minutes and a place on the team," he told Barça TV.

The importance of Barça

Bolmaro joined Barça in 2018, and is now in his third season at the club. In his first two campaigns he played for Barça B, whilst also training and playing for the first team on occasion. This season he is a full member of the first team squad.

"Barça have been very important in my growth process. Since I arrived here I have taken big steps forward, and thi year I am part of the first team. I've learned a lot from the players and coaches. I'm very grateful for the trust the club have in me."

Confidence

"When Barça renewed my contract through to 2023, it showed me that they have a lot of trust in me. Now it's time to repay Barça for all of their trust, and earn a place in the team," says Bolmaro, who added that "I hope to bring energy and hard work, and earn minutes gradually."

"I want to send a message to Argentina, who have supported me in an important time in my career, and also the Barça fans. You are missed, and I hope that  you can come back to our games soon."
