It was revealed today what numbers three of the new members of the team will be wearing this season.
Carles Aleñá will wear number 6, a shirt that in the past has been associated to such greats as Xavi Hernández and Dani Alves. It’s the same number he has already been wearing in the preseason, but the fifth that he has had at the club over the years. He made his debut with 28 on his back, later switched to 26, and was given 21 when he joined the first team permanently. He handed that number over to De Jong when the Dutchman arrived and took 19 instead before going off to Betis on loan.
Pedri is going to be wearing number 16, which has not been taken since Wague left on loan to Nice in January. Both Xavi Hernández and Sergio Busquets wore number 16 in their early days, before taking their definitive numbers later on.
Trincao is also taking a shirt he’s already been using in friendlies, namely the number 17, which belonged to Griezmann last season and whose previous owners have also included Pedro Rodríguez, Gio Dos Santos and Paco Alcácer.
Remember it has already been announced what shirt numbers Griezmann (7), Pjanic (8) and Coutinho (14) will be wearing this season.
