The Barça women just can’t stop scoring of late. Sporting Huelva, who were soundly beaten 4-0 in the Copa de la Reina, were once again on the wrong end of a beating, with Graham, Hermoso (twice), Martens, Alexia and Oshoala (also twice) getting on the scoresheet in a game preceded by the parading of the Spanish Super Cup trophy.
The Estadi Johan Cruyff only had to wait four minutes for the first goal, and with Paños easily dealing with the little she had to do, almost all of the action was at the Andalusian end of the field, where another keep, former Barça player, Chelsea, managed some fine saves but was kept so busy that further goals were inevitably gpoing to follow at some point.
And so they did, one of the highlights being a 20th goal of the campaign for Jennifer Hermoso, just four fewer than she got all last season, and Alexia converting a penalty on her 300th appearance for the team.
The result leaves Barça a comfortable nine points clear at the top of the table, with a trip Logroño next up as they’ll look to continue their blistering run.
