The U19 team have lost the final game of the UEFA Youth League group stage in Milan, a competition in which they had already lost all hope of qualification for the knockout stage. Inter opened the scoring with a goal late in the first half and added a second in second half injury time.
It was a tight enough game, and the Catalans had their fair share of chances, Gerard coming closest, while the Italians hardly produced any threat until Oristanio found the net against the run of play.
Barça continued to push after the break, with Jaume Jardí even hitting the post, but luck was not on their side. It was still anyone’s game going into the last quarter of an hour, but the blaugrana needed to score. That didn’t happen and instead it as the home side who ended up extending the lead practically on the final whistle.
