Barça Women earned their tenth victory of the Liga Iberdrola season after defeating Betis 3-0. Alexia opened the scoring on eight minutes, with penalties from Jenni Hermoso and Mariona in the first half taking the game away from the visitors. The win, coupled with Atlético Madrid's 2-2 draw against Athletic Club, gives the blaugranes an iron grip on the league leadership.
The host's dominion was overwhelming from the first whistle. Lluís Cortés's players have made the Johan Cruyff Stadium a real fortress and they proved it once again. Alexia's goal was well worked after an assist from Jenni allowed her to sell a brilliant dummy to the defender before drilling home.
In less than five minutes, Betis conceded two penalties. The first, a foul on Oshoala, was followed by a handball from Ana Fernández. Jenni Hermoso scored the first of those spot-kicks, with Mariona getting her fifth of the season with the second.
The 3-0 gave Barça their tenth win and 31 points. Their next match will be the derby against Espanyol at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque, on Saturday 14 at 5:00 pm CET.
