Leo Messi and Luis Suárez combined perfectly in Barça’s 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday at Camp Nou to help the blaugranes into the last 16 of the Champions League as group winners for the 13th season in a row.
Messi provided the pass for the Uruguayan’s opening goal in 29th minute and Luis Suárez returned the favour to the Argentinian just four minutes later. The goals, as well as helping Barça to an important victory, also helped bring up a landmark figure for the strikers. Combined their total for FC Barcelona now stands at a staggering 800.
Leo Messi, in his 700th appearance as a blaugrana, scored goal number 613 for the club. Meanwhile, Luis Suárez’s opener was his 187th for Barça in 262 matches since joining in 2014.
800 goals is a record that can only be set to grow, with both players’ appetite for goals showing no signs of diminishing.
