Germans claim victory at the Estadi Johan Cruyff to bring an early end to the bid to win a record third title

The Barça U19 team has crashed 2-1 at home to Borussia Dortmund and is already out of the UEFA Youth League with one game still to play. Gerard may have put the Catalans ahead on the quarter hour, but the Germans turned things around despite Barça having plenty of chances to add to their score, including an Ilaix penalty that was saved by visiting keeper.

Franc Artiga’s side had already come close through Konrad and then Nils before the opener was scored following a delightful move from Nico.

Dortmund had fewer chances. But they took them. Reyna equalised with practically their first attack of the game, and following an uneventful start to the second half Raschi scored the visitors’ second after 65 minutes.

Konrad and Ilaix led the charge to get back into the game, but failed to do against a tightly organised German defence, and the result brings an unexpectedly early end to Barça’s Youth League challenge.
