Into the Super Cup final! Barça overcame a combative Valencia side 71-65 in the semi final of the competition played at the WiZink Center in Madrid. Neither side was able to dominate in a tight encounter from start to finish. The fourth quarter was the decisive one with Higgins (15pts) and Mirotic (14pts) leading the scoring.
The blaugranes were led in the early stages by a tireless Víctor Claver but after 10 minutes the score was tied 15-15. Valencia piled on the pressure in the second period but with Davies, Mirotic and Tomic dominating the boards, Barça found themselves just three points behind at half time at 32-29.
In the second Svetislav Pesic's team came out all guns blazing and they scored 11 unanswered points. Barça were up by eight but Valencia also found their form from the three point line and at the end of the third quarter it was all square again at 49-49.
The fourth quarter the blaugranes produced their best basketball of the game with Higgins' three points putting them six points up with less than a minute to go. Pesic's team closed out the win and they take their place in Sunday's final against old rivals Real Madrid.
