Rayo Vallecano 1–1 Barça Women: They deserved more

Barça Women were dominant against Rayo Vallecano, but only managed to gain a point in this Liga Iberdrola encounter. Both Auñón and Jenni Hermoso scored penalties in the 1-1 draw. 

Despite their overwhelming dominance, Barça were unable to take the lead at Vallecas. Great defensive organisation from the hosts kept them from making the most of their opportunities. Leila Ouahabi crashed a ball against the post, before Larqué made a great double save - first from Hamraoui and then from Graham. Rayo's Paula Fernández came closest before the break, trying to beat Sandra Paños direct from a corner.

Penalties decide the result

Oshoala, Graham, Van der Gragt and Mariona all had chances to score but none were taken. They were made to rue those misses when Auñón, Rayo's captain, put them ahead from the spot. Seven minutes from the end, Jenni Hermoso did likewise to earn a point for the visitors. The Blaugrana play their next game on Saturday 21 (4.00pm CEST) against Atlético Madrid at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
