Employment counseling workshops begin in the Association

The first of the four scheduled sessions was about personal branding

The Barça Players' Association (BPA) has begun a series of workshops to improve the process of employment search. The first session, last Tuesday, focused on offering tools to create a personal brand.

Personal branding is a rather extended and popular concept in professional relations. Its aim is to consider oneself as a commercial brand, to sell personal skills in the best possible way according to each situation.

The employment counseling workshops series is in hands of Page Group, an international leader consultant with whom BPA signed an agreement last June to organize this kind of trainings.

Francesc Lladó, senior manager commercial of Page Group, who leaded Tuesday's session, said that the main aim of personal branding is that "everyone can bring out the best in themselves and project their skills to the market". According to him, this can be achieved by "knowing oneself really well so that it becomes easier to detect your qualities and offer them to the market in an attractive way".

Before the session started, some BPA members explained what they hoped to obtain from that workshop. Although some clearly prioritise to find a job, others, like Juan Antonio Orenes, attend these lectures to "improve" in various areas of their lives where they're currently active: "broadcasting commentator, football coach... I'm not looking for a job - I want to get better in my professional and personal life".

During the workshop, the attendants also worked on how to manage social networks, which have become very useful platforms to project the wanted image. They also talked about key points to make a difference in a job interview.
