The final sprint for La Liga

The final sprint for La Liga

With ten games to play, we look at the remaining schedules for the top three contenders

Following the latest international stoppage, La Liga heads into the home stretch, with just ten matches remaining. FC Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, and Real Madrid will be battling it out to see who gets to hoist this year's trophy.

Key clashes

In Week 31, Barça host Atlético Madrid at Camp Nou, and a win for Ernesto Valverde and Co. could knock Atlético even further off the pace.

Interestingly. there's only one La Liga side who will face all three contenders in the final ten games — Eibar — which means the Basque outfit could be a decisive factor in the title race.

Barça, Atlético and Real Madrid also have to play two matches each against bottom-dwelling teams fighting for their lives to avoid relegation, making those clashes anything but easy.

Last but not least, Barça is the only one, of the three, that is still alive in the UEFA Champions League, which will keep the Catalans from enjoying the frequent midweek rests afforded to their pursuers down the stretch. As it stands now, the Barça-Atlético clash comes just days before Barça's quarterfinal first leg match versus Manchester United — back-to-back matches that could determine Barça's fate in both competitions.
