The Croatian midfielder will play for one season at El Molinón
FC Barcelona and Sporting Gijón have reached an agreement for the loan of Alen Halilovic for one season.
The Croatian joined Barça B last summer from Dynamo Zagreb, and played 30 games in Division 2B (22 as a starter), scoring 4 goals. Luis Enrique handed him his first team debut on 15 January 2015 in the Copa del Rey round of 16 match against Elche. Halilovic came on in the 62nd minute of the 4-0 win at the Martínez Valero as a replacement for Adama. And he very nearly scored, hitting the post with a strike from the edge of the area in the final minutes of the match.
He joined the first team on their American Tour this summer, and featured in all three of the games against LA Galaxy, Man United and Chelsea. He also made his Camp Nou debut in the Joan Gamper Trophy match against AS Roma, coming on for Jordi Alba after 76 minutes.
