Andressa Alves, the first new signing to the Barça women’s team in 2016/17 is a left-footed player who can slot in anywhere on the left hand side of the park, and who is especially attack-minded in her approach to the game.
But the Brazilian international is extraordinarily versatile and can also play on the right of midfield or attack when called upon, where her skill, speed and goalscoring instinct are no less dangerous.
She is 23 years old and already has four season of senior international football experience behind her. She was part of the Brazil team that won the Copa America in 2014 and the Panamerican Games the year after, and was at the World Cup in Canada last summer.
Andressa Alves has already made a name for herself in her native country before making the move to Europe. She was at CA Juventus, Centro Olímpico, Ferroviaria and Sao José before joining Montpellier last summer.
