The 2016/17 La Liga calendar has revealed the approximate dates of this season's matches between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, also known as El Clásico.
The first El Clásico of the season will come at Camp Nou in Week 14 of La Liga, coinciding with the weekend of 3–4 December.
The two arch-rivals will meet again at the Santiago Bernabéu in Week 33 on the weekend of 22–23 April 2017. The Catalan holiday of Sant Jordi is celebrated annually on 23 April.
Last season the games were played in the reverse order. Barça routed Real Madrid, 4–0, at the Bernabéu (see video) in the autumn, with goals from Luis Suárez (2), Neymar Jr., and Andrés Iniesta. Real Madrid won at Camp Nou, 2–1, in the spring.
