FC Barcelona and Konami Digital Entertainment sign global sponsorship agreement

Digital entertainment publisher and creator of the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise, becomes Premium of the Club for the next three years

FC Barcelona and KONAMI signed a global agreement on Tuesday at Camp Nou by which the creator of the critically acclaimed PES series becomes a Premium Partner of the Club for the next three seasons.

The presentation of this agreement was attended by Francesco Calvo, the Chief Revenue Officer of FC Barcelona, and Tomotada Tashiro, the President of KONAMI Digital Entertainment B.V. As a result of this deal, KONAMI is set to launch a special Barça edition that will be released alongside the European version of PES 2017 when it launches on September 15th, 2016.

Barça and KONAMI will be collaborating in different areas. The popular digital entertainment company will be advertising both inside and outside Camp Nou, and will also be visible on the backdrops of press conferences at the Club. KONAMI will also have access to the players and will have visible presence on match days. It also gains exclusive rights to recreate the Barça stadium in PES 2017.

FC Barcelona will thus be faithfully reproduced in the series using the Team ID and Player ID systems to guarantee that PES 2017 perfectly reflects both the general and individual style of play of the Barça first team. The team’s characteristic attacking style and even the Club anthem will be implemented. KONAMI will use advanced 3D photo scanning techniques to recreate the faces and expressions of the main players, and will also launch in-game reproductions of different historic Barcelona kits.

There will be special promotions in the popular myClub mode, which will enable users to add players such as Leo Messi, Luis Suárez and Neymar Jr to their home squads. PES 2017 will also include FC Barcelona legends in the same mode.
