Barça B were put under intense pressure by Atlètic Balears on Sunday, the Mallorcans 1-0 win placing them five points ahead of the Blaugrana in the League standings. The visitors improved in the second half, but it was not enough to score at Son Malferit. Marcos got the only goal of the game for the home side, meaning Barça B have now gone four games without winning.
Atlètic Balears imposed their will from the first minute and showed that they are the best team in the category. Carlos Pérez and Riqui Puig worked hard for Barça B, but to no avail.
Jokin Ezquieta was the best player in the first half, his numerous saves keeping the Catalans in the game until Marcos sent his shot into the bottom corner in the 32nd minute. Barça tried to react, but Atlètic Balears were in control at all times.
Abel Ruiz had the best chance in the second half after a great move from Wague, but it was difficult for the visitors to create any danger.
To try and reverse the situation, the coach brought Kike Saverio on for Wague, and Mujica for Abel Ruiz. There was an improvement, however, Barça B couldn't prevent a loss. Their next game is on Sunday at the Miniestadi, against Ontinyent.
