The wins keep coming. After winning in Europe, Barça have triumphed 27-37 away to Ciudad Real in the ASOBAL domestic league to remain leaders. A blend of youth and experience, plus goals and saves, saw FC Barcelona earn their sixth league victory, with Makuc top scoring.

Blaugranes take control...

A good start from Barça at the Quijote Arena, going 2-5 up through goals by Fàbregas (2), Dani Fernández, Makuc and Elderaa. Ciudad Real reacted well though and almost draw level at 9-10 (min 15). Much as they tried, the blaugranes couldn't open the gap to more than three goals until Makuc and Filip Saric helped their team go in 13-17 at the break.

Dani Fernández with six goals, Makuc four, and Saric with a 50% save percentage proved key in the first half, despite the courage shown by the Castilla-La Mancha side to keep Barça within reach. Same again after the restart, as Saric stood strong for his side with another save, while Manu Ortega and Òscar Grau opened up a good lead at 15-21.

...and see out the win

Carlsbogard then used all his experience to help the lead grow to the biggest in the game so far at 20-27. More than enough for the blaugranes to see out the game for the win. Even more so when Makuc scored to make it +8 at the midpoint of the second half, and the left back continued to score to make it +10 (22-32, min 53) before the game ended with the same margin at 27-37.

So, another win to remain leaders of the ASOBAL league. The next game now comes after the international break, as Cajasol Ángel Ximénez Puente Genil visit the Palau Blaugrana on 8 November (4.45pm CET).
