Barça are into the final of the Cup after an impressive 7-1 win against semi-final opponents Palma, a result that does not tell the whole story of the encounter. After a tight first half between the two sides, improved finishing from Javi Rodríguez's team sealed a place in Sunday's final against Jaén. 

Level at the break 

The first half was a tight one between the two aspirants for the cup title. Palmas pressed well and the first real chance did not come until the eighth minute when blaugrana Adolfo had his shot well saved by keeper Dennis. 

Matheus then went close before Barça took the lead on 14 minutes, Luciano Gauna scoring after João Víctor's shot had been parried by keeper Dennis. Joy was short-lived, however, Machado equalised for Palma just a minute later. There were chances for both side before half time, Pito hitting the post for Barça and Dídac making an excellent save to deny Lucão at the other end, but the score remained level going into the break.

Second half onslaught

The second half could not have started better with João Víctor setting up Sergio González at the far post just a minute in. Keeper Dídac made several important saves at the team from Mallorca pushed for an equaliser. Palma started to leave gaps as they searched to make it 2-2 and Luciano Gauna took advantage scoring a spectacular effort on 34 minutes to make it 3-1. More gaps opened up and Antonio, João Víctor and a third for Luciano stretched the lead to 6-1 as full time approached. There was still time for Erick to add a seventh just before the final buzzer with Jaén now the challenge in the final.
