Another win for the Barça futsal team ahead of the Copa de España in Granada. A good launchpad given the top quality opponent in Cartagena, with goals scored by Pito, Luciano Gauna, Antonio, Matheus, Adolfo and Catela, who was returning after a long spell out due to injury. The visitors actually went ahead twice so the blaugrana response was even more impressive.

Comeback by Barça needed

Not a great start to the game for Barça, because Juninho scored the first almost straight from the off (1-0, min 1). A tough blow that could have been made worse because Dídac soon had to make a couple of saves to prevent a second. Barça gradually grew into the game, culminating in Pito equalising with a powerful and precise cross shot (1-1, min 8).

Jimbee Cartagena then went ahead again through Cortés (1-2, min 11), but the home side reacted decisively through first Gauna from an Adolfo assist (2-2, min 15) and then Antonio after a cutback on Chispi (3-2, min 17), sealing the comeback before the break.

More after the restart when Matheus extended the lead by making the most of Pito regaining possession to score the fourth blaugrana goal on the half turn (4-2, min 23).

The game became stop-start from there onwards, and in fact, both sides had already committed the fifth foul with 6 minutes still to play.

Cartagena tried to force their way back into the game, but Dídac saved superbly twice. Barça made the most of their counter attacks on the other hand, Adolfo into an empty net (5-2, min 38) and Catela from a double penalty after six fouls by Cartagena (6-2, min 39). A good finish to the game ahead of the trip to Granada for next challenge: the Copa de España.
