Jaén 3-3 FC Barcelona: Worthy draw before break
Barça did all they could to take three points but Javi Rodríguez's team had to settle for a 3-3 draw in a hard fought battle with Jaén. The blaugranes came close to victory in the dying seconds when Luciano Gauna's effort came back off the post. The game in Andalusia was the final fixture for the blaugrana futsal before a break of a month with the European Championships and Copa América coming up.
Home side ahead early
The first attack of the game saw Jaén take the lead with Míchel scoring after just 10 seconds. Barça took the setback in their stride and Martel went close before Sergio González found a way through to make it 1-1 on eight minutes.
Chances came for both sides in the rest of the half with Barça keeper Feixas making a couple of good stops. Matheus and Antonio had opportunities to give the blaugranes the lead at half time but at the break the sides went in locked together at 1-1.
Pito in the second half
Just a minute into the second half Pito got in behind the home defence and finished well, taking it around the keeper, to give Barça a 2-1 lead. Martel went close to making it three as the tempo of the game went up a notch with the blaugranes in front.
A quick counter attack from Jaén saw Esteban level things up at the far post on 28 minutes. Four minutes later the home side were ahead when a similar move ended with Alan Brandi making it 3-2 to the home side. Barça poured forward looking for the equaliser and on 37 minutes Adolfo lashed home a shot to draw the blaugranes level at 3-3.
The blaugranes chased victory and came ever so close when Gauna struck the post in the last seconds. Barça had to be happy with a point from a tough away fixture ahead of a break for international tournaments, the blaugranes being back in action on 13 February at the Palau against Alzira.
