Barça Futsal are through to the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey. It wasn’t easy. They were made to work hard in Santa Coloma, but Javi Rodríguez’s side eventually beat Industrias in a single-leg away derby and now await their next opponent. A Pito brace and a goal from Matheus decided a hard-fought, end-to-end match.

Tight first half

The opening period was intense and evenly matched, with chances at both ends. Former blaugrana Aniol put Industrias ahead by converting at the back post after five minutes, but Pito equalised five minutes later with a superb goal, controlling a long pass, rounding the keeper and scoring into an empty net. Both teams then had opportunities (Gauna, Touré and Martel for Barça) but goalkeepers Dídac and Ferreyra held firm.

Pito and Matheus seal it

The deadlock finally broke when Pito headed in from a corner on 32 minutes. Matheus then converted a double penalty to make it 3-1 in the 38th minute. Industrias pushed late on, going for a rush goalie in an attempt to get back into contention, but Barça held out and booked their place in the quarter-finals.
