The Palau Blaugrana was the venue for the Barça futsal team's first win of the season, a hard fought 5-3 win over Osasuna Magna. Before the game blaugrana president Joan Laporta and the board member responsible for futsal, Aureli Mas, came down courtside to show their support for coach Javi Rodríguez and his team ahead of taking their places amongst the crowd to cheer on the team.
Exchange of goals
Barça began their season at home in the Palau Blaugrana with an underwhelming first half performance with coach Javi Rodríguez in charge for the first time in the place where he made his name as a blaugrana player.
Osasuna took the lead in just the second minute of the game, Cerviño firing home for the team from Navarra in Northern Spain. Just a minute later the blaugranes were back on level terms thanks to a great strike from Touré. Barça's Antonio won the ball back on several occasions and set up a goal for João Victor to make it 2-1. However, the visitors took advantage of a mistake at the back by Barça to make it 2-2 before the break with Korsun levelling things up.
Second half reaction
Barça looked a different team in the second half. Martel's free kick was turned home by Adolfo right at the start of the half to allow the home side to retake the lead. Confidence started to grow in Javi Rodríguez's team and Adolfo's second goal gave them a 4-2 lead after a quick counter attack. Mendive brought Osasuna hope with a strike to make it 4-3 but a goal from Argentinian Luciano Gauna ensured victory for the blaugranes, the first under new coach Javi Rodríguez.
