The coach of the new European champions at Barça made a point of expressing how he felt, stating "I am very proud of this team", not just for the Champions League win, but also for the development and work of everyone in the squad after having a "brilliant season". During the post-match press conference, Pere Romeu also emphasised how together the team are in the face of adversity and how the young players are developing.

Barça Women have won again and blaugrana coach Pere Romeu expressed his joy and satisfaction with his side. The coach wanted to place the WCL victory into context and highlight how the team worked hard in such a tough match by stating that "It ended as a resounding result, but the first half was even". In that sense, Romeu spoke about how the 90 minutes played out, assuring that in the second half "we were better, we played better once 1-0 up". The blaugrana coach considers the achievement is amazing, as he went on to say that "There is a lot of credit in what we've achieved, I'm very happy. It's been a brilliant season and we deserve this title".

Analysing the game further, the coach highlighted how well the team read the game as he went on to say that "you have to control different situations in big games". Romeu explained that although "we were close to attacking well" in the first half, they went one step further in the second, as he continued "We attacked well in the second half. We had to control using basic combinations, the game took us that way and we have good players for counterattacking".

Praise for the team and Pajor's value

Beyond the tactics, Romeu wanted to highlight what great people his players are. "I am happy for the whole team, talking about individuals would be unfair" he began, despite saying a few words of appreciation for one of the key players in the final by stating "I am happy for Pajor. She is key for us, given her effort and work for the team. She plays a key role".

There have been ups and downs this season though, which makes this title win even more valuable. "I am very happy because the motivation never drops. We've had some signficant injuries and that's brought us together as a team" revealed a proud Romeu. "There is an identity to this group and they always compete, it's made us stronger mentally. It's helped us grow this season; we wanted to lift this trophy and we kept developing", he added firmly.

The coach ended by evaluating how the team has got on in every competition and looked to the future of the project. "I am proud, we've done very well and this is the reward for the effort. We played a great final and a good Champions League" he concluded. The joy goes beyond the trophies for Romeu, as he commented that "The title is not the only reward, it's watching the young players and seeing them have such nice experiences".
