The FC Barcelona Women's team have retained the Copa de la Reina trophy thanks to a 3-1 win over Atlético Madrid in front of a record 26,093 crowd for a final in the Estadio Gran Canaria in Las Palmas. Goals from Pina, Brugts and Salma Paralluelo handed the blaugranes the victory for a 12th success in the competition. 

Concentrated from the start 

Intensity was a key factor for Barça coach Pere Romeu in his pre-game press conference and his team showed plenty of it in the opening exchanges of the final against Atlético. The blaugranes dominated possession but were unable to find a way through until Clàudia Pina curled in an effort on 22 minutes, the Catalan striker scoring in her fourth successive final.

Brugts and Salma seal win

The second for Barça came just after the half hour mark. Vicky López put in a deep cross that Pajor could not quite reach only for Esmee Brugts to time her run perfectly at the far post to head home. Before half time Pere Romeu's team were 3-0 up when Salma Paralluelo pounced on a loose ball in the box to beat keeper Lola Gallardo and put Barça in the driving seat. 

There was still time for Patri and then Ona Batlle to hit the woodwork before the half time whistle.

Atlético pull one back

Barça's opponents were suddenly, and unexpectedly, back in the game when Boe Risa's long range effort made it 3-1 on 58 minutes. Coach Pere Romeu used is bench to good effect bringing on Kika, Serrjordi and then Aitana. The defence held firm and Barça were able to celebrate another Copa de la Reina victory and another domestic treble before switching focus to Oslo and next weekend's Champions League final against Lyon.
