A tough match straight after the international break for the blaugranes. Knowing that the return leg is to come next week at Estadi Johan Cruyff, they put in a solid performance and gradually took control of the game as the first half went on, however goals neither came that half nor after the break.

The home side defended well to stymie the blaugrana attacks. Alexia fired in a dangerous cross shot that went close and Pajor saw keeper Valenzuela save twice. Barça were defending with authority, leaving Gemma Font little to do, but the free-flowing attack wasn't on show like normal.

After the break, the chances were looking a bit more promising. Vicky was making inroads down the right, but no one could finish her crosses. Patri tried one of her trademark shots from the edge of the area, and home keeper Valenzuela made a double save from Pajor and Alexia. However, the pace of the game was set to drop after a long video assisted review.

Pere Romeu requested a review for what looked like clear handball, but the referee was unmoved much to the surprise of many. The stoppage saw the atmosphere cool as did the blaugranes' play. Pina tried with a cross shot, but it seemed impossible to beat Valenzuela, and the blaugranes came away goalless. Pere Romeu's side wanted to all but seal passage to the final, but it will have to be via a win at Estadi Johan Cruyff now.
