Goalkeeper Gemma Font and FC Barcelona will continue together until 2027.
This Friday at midday, the contract-signing ceremony took place in the club’s offices, following the announcement made on 28 July. The event was attended by president Joan Laporta, board member responsible for the women’s team Xavier Puig, and women’s sporting director Marc Vivés.
Font came through the youth ranks, rising step by step until being promoted to the first team in the 2018/19 season, when she made her debut in the Catalonia Cup. Her league debut came on 21 January, and on 10 March of that same year she appeared in the Champions League for the first time.
With excellent ability on the ball and unquestionable talent, the Barça player has continued to grow season after season. With increasing involvement and consistent reliability between the posts, Font has built up an impressive record: 5 league titles, 4 Copas de la Reina, 4 Spanish Super Cups and 3 Champions Leagues. And she’s still hungry for more.
