Marc Vivés, new Sports Director of Women's Football

Marc Vivés Usón (Barcelona, 4 February 1975) is the new Sports Director of Women's Football, with responsibilities from the professional to the youth teams in the section.

Vivés has experience of working in Japan with Vissel Kobe and with women's football structures, and was formerly technical director at the Catalan Football Federation (FCF).

He takes over from Markel Zubizarreta, who left the section last month after doing extraordinary work to take the first team to unprecedented heights.

Vivés has elite experience and is from an academic background, having spent the last 20 years developing the precise set of skills required for this post.

At the FCF he was involved in managing the Orgullosa (Pride) programme to promote the women's game, overseeing the development of current stars of the calibre of Aitana Bonmatí, Patri Guijarro, Claudia Pina and Ona Batlle, among others.

Vivés had outstanding knowledge of football methodologies and leadership, and was the ideal candidate for this position, where he will be working to foster even more success for a section that has just won its second European title and is once again the clear leader of the Spanish championship.
