Alhama CF 0-2 Barça Women: The wins keep coming

The record now reads 24 wins in 24 matches for Barça Women in the league. Jonatan Giráldez's team recorded their latest victory away at Alhama. Two goals in three minutes were enough for a 2-0 win on the road with Caroline Graham Hansen scoring and an own goal shortly after completing the win. 

In a game in which coach Giráldez's made several changes following the Champions League win over Roma in midweek, Barça Women also moved past the 100 goal mark for the season in the league. 

First half without joy

The game began in tight fashion with Barça looking to dominate but unable to do so against spirited opposition. Vicky López brought a good save from Alhama keeper Gil Pérez and Marta Torrejón then went close in the two best chances for the blaugranes in a goalless first half. 

Graham Hansen to the rescue

After the restart Barça went into another gear and three good chances came and went before they finally took the lead. Carolina Graham Hansen had come on as a half time substitute and it was the Norwegian who broke the deadlock, finishing smartly after a great pass from Aitana to make it 1-0 and score goal number 100 in the league for the season. 

Just two minutes later Graham Hansen was involved again as Barça doubled their advantage. The Barça striker whipped in a free kick and Alhama's Lucia Martínez turned the ball past her own goalkeeper to make it 2-0. 

A third was almost forthcoming but the blaugranes were denied by the woodwork as they continued their perfect record in the league for 2022/23.
