Osasuna 0-9 Barça: Goals galore in El Sadar stadium

A big win in the last 16 of the Copa de la Reina for Barça Women. Bruna broke the first half deadlock with a brace after early stubborn resistance from Osasuna, but Jonatan Giráldez' side came out flying after the break and ended up triumphing 0-9 in a match played at the El Sadar stadium, watched by a crowd of 6,167.

Breakthrough brace

Osasuna set up with a defensive mindset to clearly try and limit the space for Barça's passing game, Vicky López only managing the first shot for the away side after 19 minutes. However, that seemed to embolden the Catalans, Salma Paralluelo shooting over the bar soon after.

The first goal was scored by Bruna, who received an Aitana pass, cut in onto her left and finished inside the near post after 22 minutes. An almost carbon copy goal followed just four minutes later, this time Bruna receiving Aitana's pass and curling a left foot strike into the far post. Osasuna reacted by hitting the crossbar from a free kick towards the end of the half.

Avalanche of goals in the second half

Jonatan Giráldez clearly wanted to secure the win as Barça came out flying after the break. A driving run by the ever-dangerous Vicky López broke to Salma Paralluelo, who dispatched a left foot shot after 48 minutes.

The goals kept on coming, with three more scored in the next 10 minutes - Geyse scoring after good work by Salma Paralluelo, Bruna completing her hat-trick after a rebound from an Aitana shot, before yet another Vicky López run found Salma Paralluelo, who steered a right foot shot inside the near post from the edge of the area for her second of the night - 0-6 after just 57 minutes.

Coach Jonatan Giráldez then rang the changes to give some minutes to other squad members but more goals were still to come. Aitana shot high into the net after a melee in the box (min 67), Mariona scored a free kick that went in off the post (min 82) and Aitana got her second, finishing a loose ball inside the Osasuna box (min 84).
