Juventus 0 Barça 2: Dominance from start to finish

Lluis Cortés' side take a first leg advantage thanks to goals from Alexia and Marta Torrejón

A lead for the second leg in the Estadi Johan Cruyff. Barça Women dominated the first leg of the last 32 tie against Juventus in Turin with goals from Alexis and Marta Torrejón giving them the advantage ahead of the second leg.

Barça had the better of the early exchanges and Patri Guijarro went close after a mistake by the Italian defence. The blaugranes continued to dominate in the half and their reward not long before the break. A shot from Caroline Graham Hansen was saved and Alexia Putellas was on hand to turn in the rebound to give Barça the lead 7 minutes before half time.

In the second half 'la Vecchia Signora' went in search of the equaliser but without too much success. Lluis Cortés' team continued to dominate possession and a second for the blaugranes seemed more likely than a goal from the Italians. Indeed on 71 minutes Barça's lead doubled when Marta Torrejón met a good cross from Alexia from the right to allow the scoreline to reflect the Catalans' dominance.

A late sending off for María León reduced Barça to 10 but it had little effect on the outcome and the blaugranes have a good lead in the tie ahead of the second leg at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Wednesday 25 September.
