Sergi Roberto will be out between three and four weeks after suffering a hamstring injury late in the first half of FC Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Atlético Madrid on Saturday night at the Wanda Metropolitano.
He came off the field before the end of the first half and was replaced by Rafinha at the start of the second.
Medical tests carried out on Sunday morning confirmed that the Catalan midfielder suffered a rupture of the semimembranosus muscle in his left leg. He’s expected to miss matches against PSV, Villarreal, Cultural Leonesa, Espanyol, Tottenham, Levante, and possibly the game against Celta just before Christmas.
Sergi Roberto has played mainly as a right fullback this season but was playing as a midfielder on Saturday night against Atlético. This is his second injury this season. He hurt his right thigh earlier this fall against Athletic Club.
