FC Barcelona and US Sassuolo Calcio have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Marlon Santos. The Italian club will pay FC Barcelona 6 million euros.

FC Barcelona retain the right to buy back the player and 50% of the economic rights on any future sale. The clause regarding future sale will not come into effect if Marlon plays 50 games with US Sassuolo Calcio, at which point the Italian club is obliged to pay another 6 million euros.

FC Barcelona would like to publicly express their gratitude to Marlon and wish him all the best in the future.

From Barça B to two trophies with the first team

As a Barça B player, Marlon made three appearances for the first team in the 2016/17 season (two in LaLiga and one in the Champions League).

The 2017/18 season was spent on loan at French club OGC Nice for whom he made 26 appearances, 24 of which were in the starting XI. In the summer of 2018 he returned to FC Barcelona and took part in their 2018 US tour during pre-season.

As a blaugrana, Marlon won the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, both titles coming in the 2016/17 season.
