Iniesta: Guardiola moulding Manchester City's playing style

FC Barcelona's captain discussed Wednesday's game against the Manchester club and their transition under the ex-Barça manager

Andrés Iniesta has spoken about Wednesday's fixture game against Manchester City at the Camp Nou at 20.45 CET. The fixture is the third round of the Champions League group stage and Iniesta believes it will be a tough game: “Man City are a great team with some excellent players and they have strengthened well over the summer.” However, Barça's captain is optimistic saying, “we will come into the match with lots of enthusiasm and will try and win so we can remain in a strong position in the group.”

Iniesta also emphasised the importance of Barça's ex-player and coach, Pep Guardiola to the English club: “Guardiola's teams always play how he wants them to and Man City, even in the short time he has been there, have taken his playing style on board and look to dominate possession.” The Spanish international is under no illusions as to the quality of Barça's opposition and he thinks Man City are “a strong candidate to win the tournament and are among a select few teams who can come close to winning the Champions League.”

Finally, Iniesta spoke of the squad's ambition to attempt to win all the competitions they are in. “It is early to talk about the end of the season but we are working hard to win everything, there is a fine line between winning and losing but we have a good enough squad to compete on all fronts.”
