The Brazilian scored a stunning goal against Villareal in LaLiga whilst Barça's number 10 scored a sensational free kick for Argentina

Neymar Jr and Leo Messi have been nominated for the Puskas Award 2016, which is given by FIFA to the player who scored the best goal between 30 September 2015 and 30 September 2016. The two players share the nomination with Mario Gaspar, Saúl Ñiguez, Simon Skrabb, Marlone, Hlompho Kekana, Hal Robson-Kanu, Faiz Subri and Daniuska Rodríguez.

Until the 2 December, the day when the final three are announced, you can vote on FIFA's website. The winner will be announced at a gala in Zurich on the 9 January.

Usual Suspects

It is not the first time Neymar Jr and Leo Messi have been nominated. The Brazilian won the prize in 2011 thanks to a goal scored for Santos. In the 2012 and 2013 editions of the Puskas Award, Neymar managed third position, whilst in 2010 he made the top ten.

On the other hand, Leo Messi is yet to win the award. Barça's number 10 came third in 2011, second in 2015 and also made the top ten in 2010.
