Following the 1-1 draw at Las Palmas, the first team start preparations for Sunday's top-of-the-table clash at the Camp Nou

Following the 1-1 draw at Las Palmas and a long flight back from the Canary Islands on Thursday night, the FC Barcelona squad were straight back on the training ground on Friday morning as they begin preparations for the crunch top-of-the-table fixture against Atlético Madrid on Sunday at 4.15pm CET (TICKETS).

There are just three days to freshen up for that encounter, but the players will have been boosted by the return of sunny weather to the Catalan capital. Although Barcelona has escaped the worst of the freeze that’s hit Europe, the last few days have been very chilly indeed.

However, they were greeted by blue skies and milder temperatures of around 15% this morning.

For the players that had featured at the Estadio de Gran Canaria, the session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper involved the usual post-match warm-down routine.

Ernesto Valverde boosted the numbers by also calling on the services of Barça B’s Vitinho, José Antonio Martínez, Jokin Ezkieta and Dani Morer.
