Karim Adeyemi: 'I'm here to win titles'
Karim Adeyemi will be an FC Barcelona player until June 2031. Following the announcement of his signing, the German forward was officially unveiled as a new Barça player. The presentation was attended by club president Joan Laporta, First Vice-President for Sport Rafael Yuste, Football Director Anderson Luis de Souza 'Deco', and members of the Sporting Commission.
Happy and ambitious
Speaking to the media for the first time, the forward said he was delighted to be joining "the best club in the world". He also made his ambitions clear: "I'm here to win titles."
"I think Barça is the best club in the world because of its history, the great players who have played here, and the special connection it has with Catalonia. From day one, I've felt that it's a different kind of club."
Adeyemi revealed that his fellow German Hansi Flick was "the main reason" behind his decision to sign for FC Barcelona. "I've spoken to him and I trust him completely. He's told me what he needs for this club, and I'm ready to do whatever the team needs to achieve our objectives."
He added: "Flick can count on me to give everything for him, for the team and for the fans."
Comfortable across the front line
Asked which attacking position he prefers, Adeyemi explained that he has played in all three forward roles and is willing to play wherever he can best help the team.
"I'm ready to give everything" he concluded, also revealing that Flick had told him the squad is "like a family", with everyone pulling together. He also said he cannot wait to start training, learn from his new teammates and play at the Spotify Camp Nou, where he hopes to "give the Barça fans plenty to celebrate."
