Another achievement in football for Marc Bernal. The La Masia midfielder has made his debut for Spain, starting in a friendly match at the Riazor stadium, where Barça will play next season now Deportivo have been promoted.
The friendly was part of preparations for the 2026 World Cup and saw four other blaugranes start, namely Joan Garcia, Gavi, Olmo and Ferran, who was captain. Bernal played 59 minutes and picked up a yellow card. He was busy in the engine room and witnessed Ferran Torres put Spain ahead early on.

Dani Olmo started a counterattack from his own half with a pass to the striker, who ran forward to score with a left footed shot across the goal. Iraq then went on to draw after Joan Garcia couldn't keep out a cross-cum-shot, the keeper getting 73 minutes on the pitch.
The second half saw another blaugrana in Eric Garcia come on to play the next 45 minutos, with Olmo replaced at half-time. Gavi was substituted on 59 as coach Luis de la Fuente shuffled his pack throughout the second half, but there were no further goals.
This one-all draw is another step towards the World Cup for the Spanish national team, who are set to play another friendly on June 9 against Peru in Mexico.
