The countdown has begun. The biggest international football event of them all is about to get underway. On 11 June, the curtain rises on the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The tournament will feature 16 Barça players spread across eight different national teams. Now that the Blaugrana representatives taking part in the competition are known, it is time to find out which squad numbers they will wear.

This is the list of Barça players and their respective squad numbers for the 2026 World Cup:

Portugal and Egypt are the only two national teams with Barça representation that have yet to officially announce their squad numbers. As a result, it is not yet known which number João Cancelo will wear, nor that of Hamza Abdelkarim, who is set to make his World Cup debut.

Five Barça players keep their club number

With the squad numbers now confirmed for Spain, Uruguay, Brazil, England and the Netherlands, eight Barça players will wear a different number from the one they used throughout the season with FC Barcelona. These are Eric Garcia, Kounde, Gavi, Olmo, Rashford, Lamine Yamal, Pedri and Cubarsí.

Araujo, Ferran, Raphinha, Joan Garcia and Frenkie de Jong are the Barça players who will keep the same shirt number they wear at club level for this World Cup.

Eric Garcia has always worn number 24 for Barcelona. However, it is nothing new for him to wear number 4 with the national team, and it's a number that has brought him good fortune. Wearing that shirt, he won Olympic gold in Paris 2024. It is also no surprise, and in fact quite common, for the midfielder to wear number 9 for Spain. Lamine Yamal is likewise accustomed to wearing number 19 with the national team, a shirt in which he made history with Barça during the 2024/25 season. Olmo remains Spain’s number 10, while Ferran continues with number 7.

Six Barça players repeat their World Cup number

Of all the members of Luis de la Fuente’s squad, only Gavi will wear the same number he had at a previous World Cup. The rest will be wearing new numbers. At the previous World Cup, Eric Garcia wore number 3, Ferran number 11, Olmo number 21 and Pedri number 26. For Joan Garcia and Gordon, this will also be their first World Cup tournament, so they too will be debuting a World Cup squad number. In Joan Garcia’s case, he has worn number 13 throughout the season with Barça, so it is a familiar shirt. Gordon, meanwhile, has worn number 18 for England on previous occasions, although he spent this past season at Newcastle wearing number 10.

Araujo, despite not playing a single minute, along with Kounde, Raphinha, Rashford and Frenkie de Jong, follow in Gavi’s footsteps. They will all keep the same squad numbers they wore at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. But now all attention turns to the 2026 World Cup, ready to welcome the 16 Barça players taking part.
