This milestone underlines his consistency and importance to the team since his arrival, establishing himself as a key figure in defence. With many challenges still ahead, Koundé is now within touching distance of top spot in the ranking.

Closing in on Abidal

The Frenchman is close to becoming the French player with the most appearances of all. The record is currently held by Eric Abidal with 193 matches, but Koundé needs just eight more to draw level and continue making history at the club.
